­Important Update for Property Tax Payments

The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR), State and Local Finance Division, has shared an important change coming soon:

Effective December 24, 2025, the United States Postal Service (USPS) will move the postmark process from local application to regional sorting centers.

This change may affect the timeliness of property tax payments, since postmarks will no longer be applied locally.

To avoid delays, taxpayers are encouraged to mail property tax payments earlier than usual this season.
